Imbolc is a traditional Celtic festival celebrated on or around February 1st, marking the halfway point between the winter solstice and the spring equinox. Imbolc is often associated with themes of renewal, purification, and the returning light as winter begins to wane and the promise of spring grows closer.
It is a time to honour fertility, agricultural renewal, and the life force that stirs in the earth after the long winter.
Imbolc is often linked to the Celtic goddess Brigid (or Bríde), a deity of poetry, healing, fertility, and fire. After Christianisation, Brigid was syncretised with Saint Brigid of Kildare, and her feast day (February 1st) coincides with Imbolc.
This is a great time to start looking ahead towards what you wish to create, experience and manifest in the coming months ahead. This still isn’t a time of year for great action, but it is a perfect moment to start planting your seeds of intention
We will be honouring this earth celebration with some gentle reflection, guided meditation and a crafting activity, all supported by tea and homemade cake. This will be a time to sit in circle, connect with others and take some time to focus on your self-care and what needs you may have for a good work/life balance.
Imbolc carries an energy of transition, bridging the stillness of winter with the vitality of spring, and celebrates the spark of life beginning to awaken.
